Our middle school standards-based learning experience provides students with the building blocks to succeed. We work to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students at all grade levels. This student-centered learning experience is rich in a variety of learning opportunities while meeting the special emotional and social needs of the middle school student. Our middle school curricula helps our young students realize their talents and sets them on the path to be college and career ready.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) learning tools are integrated throughout the curricula. STEM, Technology Education, Spanish, Band, Choir , Agriculture and Art courses offer students opportunities to explore technologies, world languages, cultures and artistic expression. Our Intervention and Enhancement period offers teachers the opportunity to provide skill enhancement opportunities and interventions to support students with high academic abilities and students who struggle with specific areas of the curriculum without any new material introduced. Additional practice in these areas help provide students with the tools needed for success in school. Reading and writing is integrated in all facets of the middle school courses. Intentionally integrating these key skills for success in all facets of our middle school curricula helps our students analyze, infer & cite specific evidence to support conclusions in our Science, Social Studies and Math courses; a vital skill necessary to be college and career ready.
Students have opportunities to work both collaboratively and independently in their middle school courses. Our diverse opportunities for co-curricular learning experiences also allow our students to explore their interests and expand their potential. Science Olympiad, Archery, Track & Field, Forensics, Drama, Basketball, Cross Country and Volleyball are just a few of the co-curriculars we offer.
