School District of Poynette: Social Media
We are using Social Media more and more each day to celebrate important milestones in our lives. School is a huge part of this for children. Some of the best memories or experiences they will have are from the years spent at school. The purpose of Social Media is to share these moments with everyone in our District and community. We can use this tool as a platform to lift people up and broadcast all the exciting things they will learn throughout the school year. As long as we follow protocol and all the rules that go with it we can succeed in making this incredible. You can submit your photos, videos or stories in a few different ways:
Occasionally we may use social media for emergency or urgent information, but that is not the primary goal of our social media account. Our social media page is not just a bulletin board of upcoming events or reminders, but our way to communicate with our district.
We are looking for stories that highlight:
- Student learning
- Student & Staff achievements
- Everyday Kindness
- Sports, organizations, and other events & photos from those activities
- Videos or photos about your upcoming events or fundraisers. We may post a flier, but will not post it multiple times. Please use your own communication channels to promote your event.
We are NOT looking for:
- Events or organizations that are not tied to the school district
- GoFundme or charitable funds for specific students or staff members. We can’t share this on our official pages, but you can share from a non-school sponsored individual, parent or community group account.
- Reminders about a specific event that only pertains to small group of students
Some things to keep in mind:
- We have a small group of kids each year that opt out of having their photos shared online. If you are unsure of who these students are, please verify with Anna Velazquez.
- The content you submit will be posted within 5 days of your submission. We can’t post everything received the same day you submitted it. We also share stories in a variety of ways, including posts, photos and stories. We will determine the best way to share what you provide.
Some of the future projects & ideas we have planned for our Social Media are:
- Recognition of Students
- Shout outs to Teachers & Staff. Let me know if a co-worker has made an impact or helped with something that deserves praise.
- Clubs, Sports or any extracurricular activities. Send me photos with a brief description.
Thanks for being an active storyteller for the School District of Poynette. The community will love to support the learning that happens in our district by seeing it on Social Media. The goal is to captivate their attention and celebrate our school community!
