2024 Spring Election for School Board Members
NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
(S 120.06(12) Wis. Stats.)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to qualified electors of the School District of Poynette that a school board election will be held on April 2, 2024 to fill three (3) School Board Member offices. These offices will each serve a three-year term starting April 22, 2024 and expiring on April 25, 2027. The positions are currently held by Jeff Noble, Ruth Ann Lee, and Jody Bartnick.
An elector desiring to be a candidate for a position on the school board must file a Campaign Registration Statement, Form CF-1L ,(or CF-1 if preferred) and a Declaration of Candidacy (Form EL-162SD) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Poynette School District Office. Once filed, a declaration may not be withdrawn.
Forms and guidelines can also be accessed through our district website, under the District tab, School Board Members, or on the Wisconsin Elections Commission website. Forms can also be obtained in person from the Poynette Schools District Office, 108 N. Cleveland St., during regular business hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Mon. - Friday, until Friday, December 22, 2023.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the School District Offices WILL BE CLOSED FOR WINTER BREAK from Monday, December 25, 2023 through Monday, January 1, 2024.
Questions regarding district boundary information may be directed to the Columbia County Land Information Office or the Poynette School District Office.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary school board election is necessary said primary will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
