District Library Media Specialist (starting in 25-26)
The School District of Poynette is seeking an innovative and highly organized Library Media Specialist to lead and enhance library media services across our elementary, middle, and high schools. This district-wide leadership role requires a collaborative educator who is passionate about literacy, digital literacy, and the integration of technology into learning. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional who stays at the forefront of educational media trends and fosters a culture of inquiry, creativity, and digital fluency for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in developing and managing a comprehensive library media program that serves all schools in the district.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to design and implement curriculum-integrated projects that emphasize literacy, research skills, and technology integration.
- Promote digital literacy by offering instruction and support to students and staff in digital literacy, research methodologies, and ethical information use.
- Manage library resources, including budgeting, collection development, and maintaining diverse, engaging, and current materials.
- Supervise and support library paraprofessionals, ensuring consistency in programming and service delivery across the district.
- Facilitate engaging programs and activities that promote a lifelong love of reading, critical thinking, and digital competency.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance student learning and library services.
- Provide leadership in maintaining and updating the district’s long-range library and digital literacy plan.
- Create welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic library environments that encourage exploration, collaboration, and innovation.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current on best practices in library science, digital media, and educational technology to continuously improve library services.
- Evaluate the usage and effectiveness of library resources and services through data analysis and feedback to inform collection development decisions and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital learning tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across different school levels.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and the broader school community.
- A passion for fostering literacy, digital fluency, and innovative learning opportunities.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in digital media resources and emerging technologies.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Deep understanding of information literacy standards and instructional best practices.

Middle School Teacher (starting in 25-26)
Poynette Middle School is seeking an innovative and student-centered middle school teacher to join our dynamic team of growth-minded teachers. The successful candidate will teach middle school courses in grades 5-8 on financial literacy and communication.
The School District of Poynette has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative educational learning environments in the Madison area putting research-based practices into action such as standards based grading and the PLC at Work process. Our collaborative environment facilitates both exceptional academic and social-emotional growth for all students.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a student-centered teaching philosophy and a willingness to develop and assess 21st century learning experiences. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to build strong connections with students and execute research-based assessment and feedback strategies in a project based learning environment.
License requirements are 1777- Regular Education Middle School-Early Adolescence with a license in any of the following areas; English, Social Studies, Family and Consumer Science, Health, Physical Education, or other appropriate licenses.

Substitutes Needed - Competitive Rates/Flexible Schedule
Are you looking for rewarding, flexible work? The School District of Poynette is in need of Substitute Teachers, Substitute Teaching Assistants, Substitute Custodians & Substitute Food Service - short and long-term positions may be available for the 2022-23 school year.
Substitute Teachers – Rate of pay is $135 per day: Please note only certified teachers may apply. All applicants must possess a Department of Public Instruction substitute teacher license and/or regular teaching license to be considered. Applicants must submit a completed Substitute Teacher Application (found on the district website at www.poynette.k12.wi.us) and a copy of a current teaching license to: Administrative Office, Poynette Schools, P.O. Box 10, Poynette 53955. Applications can also be submitted through WECAN or obtained from the school district offices at 108 N. Cleveland Street in Poynette (just west of the high school entrance).
