NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
(S 120.06(12) Wis. Stats.)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to qualified electors of the School District of Poynette that a school board election will be held on April 1, 2025 to fill two (2) School Board Member offices. These offices will each serve a three-year term starting April 28, 2025 and expiring on April 23, 2028. The positions are currently held by Amber Frieden and Jamie Pauli.
An elector desiring to be a candidate for a position on the school board must file a Campaign Registration Statement (Form CF-1L or CF-1) and a Declaration of Candidacy (Form EL-162SD) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Poynette School District Office. Once filed, a declaration may not be withdrawn.
Forms and guidelines can also be accessed through our district website at www.poynette.k12.wi.us, under the District tab, School Board Members, or on the Wisconsin Elections Commission website at http://elections.wi.gov/. Forms can also be obtained in person from the Poynette Schools District Office, 108 N. Cleveland St., during regular business hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Mon. - Friday, until Friday, December 20, 2024.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the School District Offices WILL BE CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING on Thursday and Friday, November 28 & 29. 2024, and WINTER BREAK from Monday, December 23, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Questions regarding district boundary information may be directed to the Columbia County Land Information Office or the Poynette School District Office.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary school board election is necessary said primary will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
